“Understanding Religious & Feminist Ambivalence about Surrogacy”

Dr. Kao is enjoyed speaking at the inaugural Religion and Medicine conference at Claremont McKenna College held from October 9-10, 2026.

Coordinated with Professor Esther Chung-Kim, the conference brought together scholars and practitioners who work at the intersection of religion, medicine and health, including the history of religion and medicine and contemporary perspectives on spirituality and healing.

With many undergraduates in attendance, Dr. Kao delivered a presentation entitled “Understanding Religious and Feminist Ambivalence about Surrogacy.”
